Pallet love...

We got a pallet when we bought a whole bunch of block to build a fire pit...{pics of fire pit to come!}
 And I needed something to fill a large wall...
So, I took this ugly thing....
Smacked some paint on it...
And hung it on my wall!!
I think it turned out nice...
{ I have not really taken the time to decorate it yet... so, more than likely, it will *not* stay like this...}

My $10 yard sale table!!

I got this table at a yard sale the other day, I was actually running late for work and stopped anyway!! I told the woman that I would send my husband to get it...seeing as I had no money, or time!!
Being the trooper that he is, hubs went down and picked it up for me...
And I think it looks beautiful!!

Chicken Divan

{This recipe is very adaptable!}
3 Chicken Breasts
1 Can Cream o' Broccoli
1 Bag Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 Bag Broccoli Steamers
1 Sleeve Ritz Crackers
{ feel free to add more of a certain ingredient if you really like it}

Boil and shred Chicken
Steam the broccoli, then just throw everything in a big bowl and stir!!
{I like to cut my broccoli up pretty small but thats up to you.}

Then just throw everything into a pan, I dont even butter mine!

Then crush some Ritz and mix them up with a little butter and add them to the top...
bake until bubbly...

And Enjoy!!!
{sorry that I was not more specific but this recipe really is all about personal taste, if you like a lot of cheese, as we do, then add lots of cheese, or if you like tons of broccoli, add more...it really is up to you!!}

things I love to look at everyday....

This is a framed piece of paper...hanging in my hallway
On it is a grocery list...and yes, I have serial killer handwriting...I'm aware....
But there is also something very special on it...
It's the first time that my oldest son wrote his name!!!
And I didn't even know that he had done it until I went to put something else on my list...
and he did it one month before his 4th birthday!!
I'm just so proud and I love seeing it all the time
P.S. it reads "Brodie"

This is another piece of paper hanging in my hallway...
it is the "original draft" of the poem that my little brother wrote for my wedding...
My husband and I wanted only 1 person standing beside us when we got married...
He chose his dad...and I chose my little brother Andrew, who was 16 at the time...
{technically, he was my "Man of Honor"}
anyway, he wrote this poem and read it aloud at our reception....
It Reads:
My Sister, My Friend
When I was little I was your living baby doll
{I was 7 when he was born}
Mom says you barely put me down at all
Then I got a little older and I was a pain
But you still included me in all your big kid games

Throughout the years we've grown close together
{we still are, we talk almost everyday}
Even though we fought and yelled at each other,
Just remember, you'll always be my sister,
And I'll always be your brother

Now you and Denny are starting a new life together
Full of ups and downs I know you will weather
Sure, you'll get mad and he'll sleep on the couch
But in the end, it will all turn out

I wish you guys the best of luck
But who needs luck when you've got love
So here you go "Whistle Britches"
{a very horrible nickname bestowed on me by my dad when I was little}
Start a new life with the man of your wishes

Then drop good spoonfuls onto a baking sheet or some well seasoned cast iron and bake @ 350 for the longest 10 minutes of your life.....

OMG, this was too easy, I'm almost ashamed to post it....almost

I love these ready made bouquets from HobLob...
 All I do is "scrunch" up the bottom so that it fits in whatever container that I want to put it in...
Then just find a pretty container.....
Too easy....

look what I made!!

I've had this antique frame for years...like before the flood...as in Noah's Flood. And it sat around for a while and then..........I found some beautiful fabric, some matching ribbon and buttons and threw it all together! And its one of my favorite things cause I get complimented on it all the time which allows me to brag about the fact that I made it.
Now, for all of you "perfectionist" types, looking at the following pictures may give you a headache...fair warning...

I'm putting this at the bottom of this post in hopes that not too many people will see it buuut, I have to give credit to my Mr for this....I more or less just told him what to do and he made it happen....there I said it....
