I've always wanted one of these!!

My mom has one of these cute little glass ring holders and I have always wanted one! I was recently in Mississippi for my Beautiful Cousin Julia's wedding and I found this at the flower shop where she got her wedding flowers and I was so excited! I only paid $8.00 for it!
It's the little things, you know?!

Rooster Re-Do....

I bought this rooster forever ago and he has become part of the family.
But....because I have children, and because, by law, I have to let them out of their room my rooster has been broken many times... and all the kings horses and all the kings men, put my rooster together again...but he still had wounds...

Thanks to a little moss and some random buttons....

He stands proudly on the front porch. And the best part is, he doesn't wake me up at the crack of dawn!!

ps...I didn't "fog" these pictures...thats how MUGGY it is outside!!

Let me tell you a little bit about my friday's....

Friday's are kinda special to me. My husband leaves for work (UPS) about 4 a.m. and does not get home until about 11p.m. So on friday's the boys and I can do whatever we want. we usually go to the park/splashpad, we eat whatever we want, whenever we want to...there's no schedule, no rhyme or reason. no time constraints to be home and cook dinner cause hubs won't be there!
Along with my love of Friday's, I also love to cook, and bake, read cook books and try new recipes. So at some random point on friday I get my basket of cook books and go to work planning my menu for the coming week...

So, this is what I have come up with for this coming week:
Saturday:  Chicken Divan with homemade bread
Sunday: Pot Roast with Potatoes and Salad
Monday: Spaghetti with Garlic Rolls
Tuesday: Sauteed Chicken and Mushrooms with Wild Rice
Wednesday: Broccoli Cheddar Soup
Thursday: Baked Ziti with Bread and Salad

just taking a second to pay homage to my fireplace....

I LOOOVE my fireplace..I love waking up to a fire crackling, I love going to sleep to a fire crackling, I love the great feeling of accomplishment that I get when I build an amazing fire that burns all day and warms the house like only a fire can do. I love decorating it in the fall and again for Christmas. I love how a fire looks beside a newly decorated Christmas tree. I love that it has a hearth to sit on. I love how it is sitting patiently, silently, waiting for a beautifully decorated fall mantle and the first fire of the season. I love that when the power goes out (as it does ALLL the time) we can still warm the house , cook a meal and all sleep in the livingroom in front of our cozy fire...I cannot say enough about how much I love my fireplace.

Well, I've already changed my mind....

The black ribbon with the white edge reminded me of a movie reel.....so I found some scrap fabric in crimson color which goes nicely with my sage green walls....
Before....

Now they look all dressed up!!

My Grandmother's hankie....complete with her lipstick stains...and my mascara stains from my cousin Julia's wedding last weekend. It is a special gift from my Aunt Victoria and I will treasure it and keep it here on my nightstand where I will see it everyday...
